Changing the location or pressure of your hand on the bow grip will cause
the arrow to change point of impact. That is why some target archers tattoo
a permanent line on their hand to line up with the center of the grip.
Wearing a glove in cold weather can also change hand placement. Adding a bow
quiver will change bow balance and the way you grip it. Changing hand
placement can cause your groups to string out either vertically or
horizontally, depending on how you change pressure on the grip.

the difference of going "TorqueLess"
The Mathews Bow
Grip looks great and feels great in your hand. BUT, it does little to
help provide a consistent, torque reducing hand position. The "Nose" is
not long enough to provide a repeatable hand position, so it relies on
what I call "Torque Protrusions" (see picture for reference) to position the hand. The two upper
protrusions help provide the hand position on the grip but do so by
introducing torque into the setup. The lower protrusion is very wide,
making it hard to get your hand set into the grip consistently (but it
feels great). The torque produced by these small differences in hand
position, cause those left and right shots that you know should have
been dead center.
The Torque Less
Competition Grip has a much longer nose allowing the hand to slide into
the center line of the grip. The throat of the grip is narrow and flat,
providing a very repeatable hand position. By eliminating the
"torque protrusions" and providing a grip throat that is narrow and flat
we have produced a very repeatable hand position, that we call "TORQUE
LESS".

What is Bow Torque
This is
one of the most common problems of archers and one of the most difficult to
diagnose.
Gripping your bow too tight or tension in your
bow
hand or arm causes the bow to rotate in your hand. Bow torque causes your
groups to string out left and right. That is why controlling bow
torque is so important.
It's been a while but hunting season is nearly over
here in WI so I thought I'd let you know how the grip is working out. The
fit and feel of your grips is awesome. It took very little time for me to
get used to it and I noticed a change in consistency within the first week
of shooting it. More importantly I really noticed that the bow was much
harder to torque w/ gloves on in the field. I'm very excited to see if it
improves my scores during league this winter... I'm guessing it will. As
I've been shooting at the range during hunting season I have had numerous
questions about the grip and have offered interested parties to shoot it.
They were impressed as well, hopefully you have heard from some of them.
Thanks again for making a great product...
