Different Woods - Our laminated woods come in two different types, Premier and Premier Plus.
- The Premier woods are item numbers 200 and up. This wood has bright colors and thick lamination. It needs finish applied to it as it is not waterproof on its own. It can be finished with either a Satin or Gloss finish.
- The Premier Plus woods are the 100 series. This wood has thinner layers and a resin has been applied under heat and high pressure. The resin goes all the way through the wood making it waterproof on it's own. This resin also allows the wood to be polished without adding any other type of finish. However this polishing dulls down after time and the wood is also not UV protected. We offer a Satin or Gloss finish for this wood, both offer UV protection.
- Real Wood... At times we grips made from various woods of the world. These will have our Satin or Gloss finish applied.
Our Finishes
- Buffed... Our 100 series grips are made from our Premium Plus wood. This wood has been process in multiple layers under high pressure and heat with a special resin that penetrates all the way through the wood that makes the wood water resistant. The wood with resin can be polished to a nice shine. The advantage to this is scratches can be sanded out and the wood re polished, the disadvantage is the the shine wears off fairly quickly and would need re-polished for appearance. Also the wood would fade over time from UV exposure.
- Satin and Gloss...These can be applied to any of our woods. The satin leaves a nice low sheen finish. The gloss is a high shine finish. Both of these finishes offer UV protection. They may make grips color a little darker (bolder looking). Both are very similar to the clear coat finish found on cars.

Low, Medium or High Wrist -
- This
is determined by YOUR shooting style. Our low wrist grips follow the
contour of the bow. A medium adds more wood to the base of the grip. A
stock Mathews rubber type grip is similar in wrist to our Low wrist grip. The new Mathews Vertix grips have a higher wrist angle built into the riser.
- Bowtech and Elite stock grips/sideplates would be similar to our low wrist grips for those bows.
